WHITSTABLE

12 SEPTEMBER 2016

This week we would like to tell you about the wonderful Whitstable; perfect for a day out with family, friends or a loved one. The location of our very first shoot this gem is just over one hour (an hour and 11 minutes to be precise) from London and there are 48 trains doing this journey everyday so you can that one last sundowner as the weekend comes to a close.

So let’s start with the basics, Whitstable is a gorgeous seaside town, it’s along the north coast of Kent and a few miles up the road from Herne Bay and Canterbury. Whitstable is famous for its delicious oysters and there is even an annual Oyster Festival in Whitstable, celebrating the area which has been well known for oysters since the Roman times. It has tradtional charm, a strong arts culture and a rich maritime history, all of which come together to offer a very modern appeal.

In Whitstable Harbour you will find a unique blend of leading artists, artisans and food producers alongside independent retailers, all of which trade from their own traditional and whimsical fisherman’s huts dotted along the quayside.

When looking for a place to try out the delicious oysters that Whitstable has to offer the Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company is a must, it’s a fantastic seafood restaurant serving up some of the very best oysters, fish and crustacean that Whitstable has to offer. The Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company is on the beach and offers some truly stunning views across the company’s oyster grounds. This is ‘the’ place to try the oysters of Whitstable.
