SEAFORD, EAST SUSSEX
12 APRIL 2016
Whenever I return home to Sussex I take the countryside route out of London through the winding roads of the South downs, and this particular time I took the team with me in our beaten up Land Rover. Today, the coast is bathed in the searing light of the newly Spring sun. It is late morning and we are alone except for a few lonely dog walkers on the horizon.
We stop on the top off the cliffs, also known as Beachy Head and take in the natural stillness. When the sea air hits my lungs, I know that I am home.
We take in the stark colours, wind beaten sand dunes and flecks of salt water against our skin, before trekking back through the downs to reflect in one of our favourite country pubs.
